Zusammenfassung

Bis zu 90 % aller Patienten mit Morbus Crohn bedürfen während ihres Krankheitsverlaufs eines oder mehrerer chirurgischer Eingriffe. Selbst nach resezierenden Eingriffen, in denen alle makroskopisch befallenen Darmabschnitte entfernt wurden, kommt es bei 30–50 % der Patienten während der nächsten 10 Jahre zu einem klinischen Rezidiv, das der erneuten medikamentösen oder operativen Therapie bedarf. Systematische endoskopische Untersuchungen bei operierten Patienten haben gezeigt, daß sogar in einem noch höheren Prozentsatz der Patienten bereits innerhalb des 1. postoperativen Jahres Crohn-Läsionen im unmittelbar präanastomosalen Darmabschnitt (sog. neoterminales Ileum) auftreten.
