Nebenwirkungen unter Lithium treten häufig auf und sind beschwerlich,

Lithium engt die Kreativität ein,

Lithiumintoxikationen können sich selbst bei therapeutischen Dosierungen und Serumspiegel unerwartet entwickeln,

die Notwendigkeit häufiger Laborkontrollen macht eine Lithiumtherapie l?stig und teuer, und
