Tissue Type Imaging — An Approach to Clinical Use

  • Conference paper
Book cover Tissue Characterization in MR Imaging

Abstract

The introduction of NMR into diagnostic imaging opened up new possibilities in measuring and displaying tissue-specific information due to the dependence of the signal amplitude on the intrinsic relaxation parameters and the proton density. In routine imaging a highly contrasted reproduction of the tissue of interest is achieved by the use of appropriate pulse sequences and machine parameters.
