Abstract

The mechanism of the organophosphorous compounds, the inhibition of the enzyme cholinesterase causing a cholinergic crisis and special clinical signs of intoxication are well known (Hayes 1982, Klaassen et al 1986). The electrophysiological changes of the central and peripheral nervous system produced by these compounds have been investigated only by a few authors (Hyde et al 1978; Solima et al 1982; Dési 1983).
