Quasiparticle Motion on a Chain with Alternating Site Energies and Intersite Interactions

Abstract

We present exact calculations of the amplitude and the probability self-propagator of a quasiparticle moving among the sites of an infinite linear chain with alternating nearest-neighbour matrix elements for transfer and alternating site energies. A general solution is given and extreme limits are studied.
