Genetics of Schizophrenia: Discussion

One of the few generally accepted findings in the genetics of schizophrenia is the fact that the relatives of a schizophrenic patient have an increased risk of developing a comparable disorder. As the presentations of all three distinguished speakers in this session showed, we have no clear idea about the underlying mechanism responsible for the familial recurrence risk.
