Abstract
Oncological therapy today is characterised by increased specialisation and concentration of therapy in tumour centres. In particular those patients who face long-term tumour-specific therapy are frequently hospitalised and therefore excluded from their usual psychosocial environment. For the tumour patient, this important additional burden means a substantially lowered quality of life. This problem is especially associated with continuous cytotoxic chemotherapy.
