Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis can be seen as a composite of many local processes: some lesions heal, others progress, some stabilize, and others reactivate — at the same time [37]. The same is true in bone and joint disease: active disease and healing can be seen together with old inactive processes in the same patient, close together or at different locations.
