Zusammenfassung

Inkontinenz entsteht durch Störungen der Innervation des Beckenbodens und der rektoanalen Motorik, während Motilitätsstörungen des Kolons fast immer zur Obstipation führen. Diarrhö ist hingegen selten eine Folge primärer Motilitätsstörungen des Kolons, obwohl bei Diarrhö eine Hypomotilität gemessen wird. Diarrhö ist meistens die Folge einer gestörten Wasserresorption und wird deshalb hier nicht weiter diskutiert.
