Zusammenfassung

Der Stellenwert der Sonographie bei der Diagnostik intraskrotaler Erkrankungen wurde in verschiedenen wissenschaftlichen Untersuchungen beurteilt. Gemeinsam ist allen Untersuchungen die Erkenntnis, daß für die Skrotalsonographie folgende 3 Charakteristika zutreffen:

  1. 1.

    hohe Sensitivität in der Erfassung pathologischer Befunde;

  2. 2.

    sehr gute Differenzierung testikulärer und paratestikulärer Erkrankungen;

  3. 3.

    eingeschränkte Möglichkeit bei der Differenzierung tumoröser und nicht-tumoröser Läsionen.
