The 1962 Novel Prize for Physics has been awarded to the Soviet theoretical physicist and Academician, L. D. Landau, for his work on the theory of condensed matter, namely, the theory of Helium II This is yet another illustration of the recognition and respect currently enjoyed by Soviet science.
