Zusammenfassung

Mehr als 50% der aufgrund eines definierten Verletzungsschweregrades zur Entwicklung eines akuten progressiven Lungenversagens (ARDS) prädisponierten Polytrauma-Patienten sterben an dieser respiratorischen Insuffizienz als Folge eines interstitiellalveolären Permeabilitäts-Ödems, das sich durch die Erhöhung des extravasculären Lungenwassergehaltes (EVLW) messen und klassifizieren läßt (1, 2).
