Coherent-Anomaly Method in Polymer Physics

Abstract

A coherent-anomaly method (CAM) in cooperative phenomena has been proposed by SUZUKI [1,2,3]. Here in this article, we report an application of this new theory to self-avoiding walk problem (SAW)[4]. SAW has been introduced as a model of linear polymer chain in good solvents, and takes into account the excluded volume effect. We investigate one of the most interesting aspects of SAW, namely the asymptotic behavior of the total number of N-step SAWs.
