Frequency Metrology and the Fundamental Physical Constants

Abstract

The fundamental physical constants of the twentieth century have conventionally comprised the group: c, e, m e, m p, h, N A, k and G. This group involves all of the base SI units save the candela. Frequency measurements play an increasingly important part in determinations of their values[1–3] in SI units.
