Zusammenfassung

Die Beschäftigung mit Kopfschmerzen im Kindesalter ist noch ein sehr junges Gebiet. Die erste Beschreibung stammt von Wepfer, dem Schweizer Zeitgenossen Harveys, der Ende des 17. Jahrhunderts das Auftreten von Migräne bei jugendlichen Patienten erwähnt. Der Kinderarzt Day weist dann erst wieder 1877 auf Kopfschmerzen bei seinen Patienten hin. Von Valquist wissen wir seit 1949 über das Auftreten von kindlicher Migräne bei 1- bis 4jährigen Kleinkindern. Und bis vor wenigen Jahren lag keine einzige kontrollierte Untersuchung über die Behandlung kindlicher Schmerzen vor.
