Zusammenfassung

In seinem Editorial „Child Neurology and Child Psychiatry“ weist Bax (1984) auf die häufig enge Beziehung zwischen neurologischen und psychiatrischen Symptomen im Kindesalter hin und bedauert, daß sowohl Neuropädiater als auch Kinderpsychiater diesen Tatbestand zu wenig in ihre diagnostischen und therapeutischen Überlegungen einbeziehen: Die notwendigen fachübergreifenden Verbindungen würden dadurch erschwert, daß die Kinderpsychiater ihren neuropädiatrischen Kollegen einen mechanistischen und vereinfachenden Umgang mit Verhaltensauffälligkeiten vorhielten, während diese umgekehrt ihre pragmatischen Sichtweisen im Vergleich zu den theoretischen psychologischen Konstrukten als effektiver einschätzen.
