Zusammenfassung
Die TENS ist eine nichtinvasive Methode zur Schmerzlinderung, bei der elektrische Impulse über Oberflächenelektroden durch die Haut hindurch direkt an das schmerzende Areal oder die versorgenden Nervenstämme appliziert werden und dadurch Systeme aktivieren, welche hemmenden Einfluß auf die Schmerzübermittlung ausüben, d.h. die Schmerzkontrolle aktivieren.
