Abstract
The compound coded B-19036, an octadentate chelate of the paramagnetic ion Gd3+ (3, 6 ,9-triaza-12-oxa-3, 6, 9-tricarboxymethylene -10-carboxy-13-phenyl-tridecanoic acid, gadolinium chelate, Fig. 1), is a new contrast agent for magnetic resonance imaging, developed in our laboratories (Felder et al. 1985). Systemic and neural tolerance for B-19036 was evaluated both after intravenous and intrathecal administration.
