Zusammenfassung
In den letzten 10 Jahren ist es gelungen, eine Vielzahl von Überträgerstoffen, welche aus aktivierten Immunzellen freigesetzt werden, zu isolieren und zu charakterisieren. In der Folge konnten diese Stoffe, die gemeinsam als Zytokine bezeichnet werden, auch gentechnologisch mittels DNA-Rekombinanten-Technologie hergestellt werden [4]. Während über die klassischen Zytokine, wie über IFN-alpha, -beta und -gamma, über TNF-alpha und -beta, sowie über die Interleukine IL-1, IL-2, IL-3 und IL-4 eine zunehmend gefestigte Kenntnis ihrer pleiotropen physiologischen Funktionen etabliert wurde, ist unser Wissen über die endogene Biosynthese dieser Stoffe, sowie über krankheits-assoziierte Störungen ihrer Bildung noch sehr beschränkt. Darüber hinaus wurde es klar, daß die überwältigende Mehrzahl von Zytokinen lokale Gewebshormone darstellen, welche überhaupt nicht, oder wenn nur in Spuren im Blutstrom nachgewiesen werden [14]. So ist es auch nicht verwunderlich, daß bisher nur wenige naturwissenschaftlich gefestigten therapeutischen Dosierungskonzepte für diese Stoffe in die klinische Therapie Eingang gefunden haben.
