Sensitivity to Far-uv Light as a Parameter for the Study of in vivo Regulation of Development of PSII Particles in Cyanobacteria: An Analytical Model

  • Conference paper
Photosynthesis

Summary

Assuming the chromosome and PSII particles in cyanobacteria as independent lethal targets of ultraviolet (UV) radiation, an analytical model for the development of the PSII particle has been proposed. The model assumes that the UV-sensitivity of PSII particles is regulated by functional association and dissociation of the high turnover herbicide binding B protein and the rest of the core particle. Preliminary data on mutants with altered UV-sensitivity are discussed in the light of this model.
