Systematics, Morphology and Ecology of Lichenized Fungi

Abstract

During the past 2 years, intensified interest in lichenology has resulted in an increasing number of publications, and due to space limitation, a complete citation of all important papers on taxonomy and floristics is no longer possible. Instead of the complete list of references aimed at in earlier editions, in this edition a general survey of interesting fields of research will be given. However, a report on modern taxonomy would be meaningless without a reference to morphology, ecology, chemistry, and other related areas of research. For detailed information on recent taxonomic papers the relevant sections of “Biological Abstracts”, “Recent Literature on Lichens” (in the Bryologist) and similar publications should be used. There is even a new paper from the USSR (Trass 1985). A general treatment of lichenological problems was published by Lallemant et al. (1986) and by Roux et al. (1986).
