Anti-Class I and Anti-Class II Antibodies with Monomorphic Reaction Patterns in Non-alloimmunized Human Subjects

In a previous study we demonstrated the occurrence of anti-HLA class II antibodies in a group of untreated Hodgkin’s disease patients, none of whom had an history of pregnancy or blood transfusions (Romagnani et al. 1985). This reactivity was associated with a significant suppression of autologous and allogeneic MLR, was not directed against polymorphic DR determinants, and was strongly reduced after chemotherapy.
