Ca. 10% der malignen Erkrankungen im Kindes- und Jugendalter sind primäre Knochentumoren, pro Jahr ist in der Bundesrepublik mit etwa 200 Neuerkrankungen zu rechnen, davon entfallen 2/3 auf Osteosarkome und 1/3 auf Ewing-Sarkome.
