Zusammenfassung
Trotz zunehmender Zahlen von Patienten in immer höherem Lebensalter und mit immer ausgeprägteren Risikofaktoren hat die Mortalität auf den Intensivstationen in den letzten Jahren kontinuierlich abgenommen, wie das Beispiel der Anästhesiologischen Intensivtherapiestation des Klinikums der Universität Ulm belegt (Abb. 1).
