Radical Cations From Alkyl Iodides and 1,n-Halogen(Alkylthio)Alkanes in Solution

Abstract

Radical cations of the general type (-I∴I-)+, (=S∴I-)+, (=S∴Br-)+, and (=S∴S=)+ with optical absorptions in the UV/VIS are formed upon one-electron oxidation of alkyl iodides and 1 ,n-halogen(alkylthio)alkanes.
