Microscopic Description of Even Ge and Se Nuclei

In the last years a family of microscopic nuclear structure models based on Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov mean fields has been developed by the authors, which are known as the MONSTER and the VAMPIR approaches1. These models are supposed to be an alternative to the ‘exact’ shell model configuration mixing approach, which is limited to too small single particle basis spaces in order to be useful for realistic applications in heavy nuclei. We will briefly describe here the theoretical background and the numerical implementation of these models.
