Europe — Denmark, Finland and Norway

Since the foundation of CINP in 1957, Scandinavian psychopharmacologists have taken an active interest in this organization and considered the CINP Congresses every two years an important forum for presenting recent research findings and discussing current problems with colleagues and friends from all over the world. I find it in place here to mention in particular two outstanding Danes who played an important role in the organization: the late Erik Jacobsen, who was one of the founders of CINP, served as President from 1970 to 1972 and was later elected honorary member; and Ole J. Rafaelsen, who served as President at the 1986 CINP Congress in Puerto Rico, and whose death in a tragic accident in the summer of 1987 was a great loss to all of us.
