Elbow Joint

Abstract

The elbow joint is evaluated on continuous longitudinal and transverse scans performed over the anterior and posterior aspects of the joint. The following longitudinal scans are standard:
  • longitudinal scan over the posterior aspect of the olecranon, olecranon fossa, and humeral shaft;

  • longitudinal scan over the radial head, radial fossa, and capitellum from the anterior aspect of the humeroradial joint;

  • longitudinal scan over the ulna, coronoid process, trochlea, and coronoid fossa of the humeroulnar joint from the anterior side.
