Abstract

The extracorporeal shock-wave lithotripsy (ESWL) of kidney — and gallbladder stones has been initiated at the Institute of Surgical Research /1,2,3,5/. Meanwhile it is a clinically established routine method and more than 1 million patients suffering from kidney calculi and 200 patients with gallbladder stones have been treated successfully /20/.
