Abstract

On 24 August 1986, our dear colleague Harry Benjamin died at the age of 101 1/2. For all of his patients, he was concurrently an endocrinologist, a counselor, a psychiatrist, a referral service, and even an inspirer of networks. It would seem not too soon to begin to evaluate the formidable legacy which he left us.
