Zusammenfassung

Die Dämpfung des Wehenschmerzes unter der Geburt ist ein nur zu verständlicher Wunsch der Kreißenden. Während man lange Zeit ein unbeeinflußtes Schmerzerlebnis bei der Geburt als wichtigen Faktor zur Entwicklung einer innigen Mutter-Kind-Beziehung ansah, liegen mittlerweile zahlreiche Hinweise dafür vor, daß eine ausgeprägte maternale Schmerz-Streß-Situation zu nachteiligen Einflüssen auf den Feten bzw. das Neugeborene führt.
