Zusammenfassung

Das trabekuläre Karzinom der Haut wurde erstmals 1972 von Toker beschrieben [15]. Er definierte den Tumor als ein an der Dermis-Subkutisgrenze gelegenes, trabekulär aufgebautes Karzinom älterer Menschen. Wie die später dem Tumor gegebenen Bezeichnungen, Merkelzellkarzinom, neuroendokrines Karzinom und APUDom, trifft auch der ursprüngliche Begriff nur einen Teil des Erscheinungsbildes dieses Tumors.
