Chinese Drugs of Plant Origin

Abstract

Yadanzi, Fructus Bruceae, is the dry mature fruit of Brucea javanica (L.) Merr (Simaroubaceae). It is used in traditional Chinese medicine for a long time as an antimalarial and antidysenterie agent. By external application, it was also used for treatment of warts and corns. The fruit of B. javanica is listed officially in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia.
