Cons of Laser Angioplasty

After excellent experimental and clinical reports on the use of laser technology in treatment of arterial obstructions, there can be no doubt that, with application of one or other type of laser, progress will be made. This will also be true for treatment of arterial occlusive disease in the extremities and in the coronary and cerebral arteries. This much, at least, is certain, even if long-term follow-up results of more than 1 year are still lacking [1–3, 5, 10].
