Zusammenfassung

Die Methode wurde unter verschiedenen Namen bekannt: High Resolution Two-Dimensional Electrophoresis, Protein Mapping, Protein Subunit Mapping, ISO-DALT System. Im Laufe der Zeit hat diese Methode jedoch eine so starke Verbreitung gefunden, so daß sich für diese Technik der allgemeine Name„ zwei-dimensionale Elektrophorese“ (2DE oder 2D) durchgesetzt hat, obwohl es sich hier um eine spezielle Form der zweidimensionalen Elektrophorese handelt. Im Folgenden wird nur auf diese spezielle Technik eingegangen. Sie wird mit der Abkürzung 2DE bezeichnet.
