Zusammenfassung

Retroviren sind Viren, die eine einzelsträngige RNA (Ribonukleinsäure) als Erbsubstanz tragen. Sie sind im Tierreich weit verbreitet, wobei es sowohl pathogene als auch nichtpathogene Arten gibt. Alle bisher entdeckten Retroviren haben einen gemeinsamen Grundbauplan bestehend aus drei Genen:

  1. a)

    gruppenspezifisches Antigen (gag)

  2. b)

    Polymerase Gen (pol)

  3. c)

    äußeres Hüllgen (env)
