Summary

Paronychias may be associated with mycotic, bacterial, parasitic and viral infection. Paronychias may also be induced by drugs and dermatological conditions. The incidence of occupationally produced paronychias is increasing.

The current medical and surgical therapy is outlined.

Zusammenfassung

Paronychien können durch mykotische, bakterielle, parasitäre und virale Infektionen bedingt sein. Sie können aber auch aseptisch bei verschiedenen Hautkrankheiten oder chemisch ausgelöst entstehen. Die Häufigkeit beruflich bedingter Paronychien nimmt ständig zu. In der vorliegenden Übersicht werden die medikamentösen und operativen Behandlungsmöglichkeiten dargestellt.
