Kurzfassung
Die Einteilung der Prozeßkommunikation in synchrone und asynchrone Verfahren berücksichtigt offensichtlich nur das Verhalten des Senders. Diese Begriffe machen jedoch auch für das Empfangen Sinn. Synchrones Empfangen soll bedeuten, daß ein Empfänger an wohldefinierten Stellen seines Ablaufs Nachrichten entgegennimmt, asynchrones Empfangen dagegen, daß er beim Eintreffen einer Nachricht asynchron in seinem Ablauf auf ein Reaktionsprogramm umgelenkt wird.
In Anlehnung an Ausnahmebehandlungskonzepte in Programmiersprachen wird ein neues Konzept für asynchrones Empfangen vorgestellt, welches die üblichen Nachteile existierender Konzepte wie z. B. eine nur schwer zu beherrschende Semantik überwindet. Das Konzept enthält die übliche Prozeßkommunikation, die Programmunterbrechung und die Ausnahmebehandlung als Spezialfälle.
