Zusammenfassung
Die vorliegende Arbeit befaßt sich mit der Chemotherapie des fortgeschrittenen Magenkarzinoms. Nachdem in mehreren vorhergegangenen Beiträgen die adjuvante Chemotherapie erwähnt wurde, soll noch kurz dazu Stellung genommen arden. Unter adjuvanter Chemotherapie versteht man die Behandlung zu einem Zeitpunkt, wenn durch chirurgische Maßnahmen der Tumor vollständig entfernt ist und weder makroskopisch noch mikroskopisch Tumorreste oder Metastasen nachweisbar sind. Ziel einer solchen Behandlung ist es, das Risiko eines Rezidivs zu verringern. Für das Magenkarzinom konnte in mehreren größeren Studien ein Nutzen der adjuvanten Chemotherapie bisher nicht nachgewiesen arden. Eine solche Therapiemaßnahme ist daher als experimentell zu bezeichnen. Sie sollte nur innerhalb von klinischen Studien erfolgen.
