Zusammenfassung

Eine optimale lokale oder systemische Anästhesie (Intubationsnarkose) ist für Augenoperationen im Sinne des Wortes noch offensichtlicher essentiell für den Operationserfolg als in der übrigen Chirurgie. Unzureichende Anästhesie kann nicht selten deletäre (und irreversible) Komplikationen für das Auge nach sich ziehen. Es ist deshalb wichtig, daß die mit der modernen ophthamologischen Mikrochirurgie konfrontierten Anästhesisten die speziellen Anforderungen, kritischen Phasen und Risiken kennen.
