Zusammenfassung
Insgesamt rechnet man mit 150 000 Schädel-Hirn-Verletzungen pro Jahr in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, die in über 40% mit anderen Verletzungen verbunden sind (18). Vor allem ist ein Schädel-Hirn-Trauma häufig auch mit weiteren Gesichtsverletzungen vergesellschaftet; nahezu jeder zweite Patient mit Gesichtsschädelfraktur hat auch ein schweres Schädel-Hirn-Trauma. Nach NERLICH und Mitarbeiter (32) stellt dabei das Verletztenkollektiv mit Gesichtsschädelfrakturen eine besonders schwer verletzte Gruppe dar: 39% dieser Patienten versterben schon am Unfallort.
