The Psychobiology of Bulimia Nervosa

Abstract

In the opinion of researchers in internal medicine, the phenomenon of obesity is the result of a positive energy balance (Gries et al. 1976). All known concepts for weight reduction — from absolute fasting to energy-reducing mixed diets — are the result of the reversal of this explanation model (Fig. 1).
