Zusammenfassung

Seit ihrer Einführung 1973 wurden CT-Untersuchungen am kindlichen Patienten bei der Abklärung intrakranieller Pathologie durch die Pädiatrie in ihrer Wertigkeit rasch anerkannt und akzeptiert. Dadurch konnte die früher viel geübte Luft-enzephalographie stark eingedämmt und dann bald als praktisch obsolet weitgehend verlassen werden. In der Zwischenzeit ist hier bereits eine weitere Wandlung eingetreten. Durch die rasante technische Entwicklung wie auch die breite Verfügbarkeit des Ultraschalls — jedenfalls beim Säugling, solange die große Fontanelle diese Untersuchung zuläßt — ist die Anwendung der CT in dieser Altersgruppe bereits wieder rückläufig.
