Zusammenfassung

Von den 3 großen Gefäßen des Thorax stellt die Aorta das für die CT-Diagnostik wichtigste dar. Es sind hier vor allem Aneurysmen, Wanddissektionen und Traumen, die zu lebensgefährlichen Situationen führen. Bei der V. cava superior sind es Verschlüsse durch Kompression oder Thrombose, meist im Rahmen neoplastischer Erkrankungen. Die Embolie der A. pulmonalis stellt dagegen normalerweise keine Indikation für die CT dar. Angeborene Fehlbildungen kommen schließlich bei allen 3 Gefäßen vor.
