Zusammenfassung

Unter Ultraschall versteht man Schallwellen mit Frequenzen (f) jenseits der Hörgrenze (d.h. f≳20 kHz). Zu ihrer physikalischen Beschreibung lassen sich Gesetzmäßigkeiten verwenden, die auch von anderen Wellenphänomenen bekannt sind [z.B. Licht, (hörbarer) Schall, Radiowellen etc.].
