Regenerative, AlI-or-None, Electrographic Seizures in the Rat Hippocampal Slice in Physiological Magnesium Medium

Abstract

Previous studies have shown that electrographic seizures (EGSs) can occur spontaneously for several hours in the hippocampal slice in Mg-free medium containing the GABAb agonist baclofen. We report here that similar all-or-none EGSs could be triggered in physiological Mg medium (with or without baclofen) if the EGSs were induced by several stimulus trains, and sometimes transiently exposed to Mg-free medium.
