Abstract
Two main determinants of what a person is aware of and does are his or her wants and beliefs. If P wants a cab, then P looks for a cab. If P believes that cabs are yellow and are most frequent on main streets, then P walks to such a street and pays attention to whether or not an approaching car is yellow, and so on.
