On the Interpretation of Electronic and Phonon Anomalies in Mixed Valence Compounds
Neutron and Raman scattering have revealed the existence of very interesting phenomena in systems with 4f and 5f electronic levels. Those most investigated include: 1) mixed valence phase transitions, 2) the occurrence of heavy fermions, 4) the presence of the rare earth elements in the high Tc superconductors.
