Zusammenfassung

Faktenbanken sind mehr als eine Sammlung von Daten. Mit der Anbindung von Programmen bilden sie die Grundlage für eine umfassende Auswertung unseres Wissens und die Überprüfung von Theorien. Im folgenden sei nur kurz skizziert, welche Möglichkeiten und Probleme eine konsequente Beschreibung von Kristallstrukturen chemischer Verbindungen in Datenbanken für die Recherche und die Auswertung mit sich bringt.
