Abstract

Ribulose bisphosphate carboxylase (RBC) (3-phospho-D-glycerate carboxylase, EC 4.1.1.39) is a key enzyme in the photosynthetic process. Literature on its function and on its catalytic properties has been reviewed recently in this series by KELLY and LATZKO (1984) and HOLTUM et al. (1986) and will not be discussed in the following survey.
